Hello Canyon Crest parents!
This November, there will be a school reconstruction bond on the ballot. The school district is proposing to rebuild 5 schools: Provo High School and Rock Canyon, Provost, Edgemont, and Sunset View elementary schools.
We encourage you to become an informed voter by attending one of the many Bond Information Nights. You can attend here at Canyon Crest on Sept 30 in the Gym. But if that doesn't work for your schedule, please choose any Bond Information Night at any school that works for you. We have included the schedule below. Please note that the first meetings are this week.
If you would like to see the condition of the five proposed schools first hand, you can attend tours from 6:30-7:00 on the evening of their Bond Information Night.
We have many people in our school boundaries that do not have children in our school. I encourage you to share this information with your neighbors and invite them to attend a Bond Information Night in preparation for the election this November.
Bond Information Nights Schedule:
3: Spring Creek
16: Amelia Earhart
17: Rock Canyon*
30: Canyon Crest
1: Provo High*
8: Provo Peaks
28: Sunset View*
All Bond Information Nights begin at 7:00. (*) denotes the 5 schools proposed for this bond, and they will have tours from 6:30-7:00.

In November 2012 Canyon Crest Elementary received the Blue Ribbon School Award. This is a prestigious award that was only awarded to three schools in Utah - Canyon Crest elementary in Provo, Dixie Sun Elementary in St. George, and Quail Hollow Elementary in Sandy. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle and high schools where students perform at very high levels or where significant improvements are being made in students' levels of academic achievement. Since 1982, the U.S. Department of Education's National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has honored America's most successful public and private elementary, middle, and high schools. A National Blue Ribbon Schools flag waving overhead has become a trademark of excellence, a symbol of quality recognized by everyone from parents to policy-makers in thousands of communities. (Watch for our new flag to be up soon!) In its 30 year history, the U. S. Department of Education has bestowed this coveted award on nearly 7,000 of America's schools. WE LOVE CANYON CREST!

2013-14 SAGE Summative average proficiencies shown below reflect a new baseline for Utah's end of level testing. The new SAGE test is different than the previous Criteria Referenced Tests (CRT), and more challenging, and therefore cannot be compared to CRT results from previous years. SAGE tests are adaptive, with questions based on new Utah Core standards, and contain technology-based questions versus all multiple choice.
