SPANISH IMMERSION PROGRAM COMES TO CANYON CREST

Hola Canyon Crest!

We are happy to announce that a new Spanish Immersion program will begin at Canyon Crest next fall.  I was notified on January 4th that our grant had been accepted.  The program will start in first grade next August.  We received one of ten grants given to schools across the state by the Utah State Office of Education, and we are thrilled to have been chosen.spanish man

Applications will be available on our web site.  As a major world language, Spanish is spoken by a growing number of people in our community, state and nation.  Wherever our students go, in or out of Utah, fluency in Spanish will open doors to them and give them greater access to the world.  It will also help them become better citizens of the world.  As speakers of Spanish, our students will be prepared to take their places in a global economy.  More information will be coming in the next few months.  Gracias

OLD TRADITIONS RING TRUE FOR MRS. ADAM'S MUSIC CLASS

Fifth grade students participated in an old 17th century tradition of "Apple Howling" or Wassailing the Trees.  They recited authentic poems as well as singing songs from that time to the trees in front of the school.  They will culminate the activity by having a wassail party while they watch the video of their performance.
